Grand River Hospital - Patient Care Development

Description

Total project consisted of 215,000 sqft of total renovations. Of that total amount, 154,000 sqft were deemed major renovations. A new 40,000 square foot addition for the ICU department, CAIP and Future Medical imaging was constructed. New adult inpatient mental health; a dedicated mental health entrance along with new reception, resource and waiting areas highlighted this phase.


Child and adolescent inpatient psychiatry (CAIP)- individual  rooms were built, each with a  washroom, and a new observation area for children requiring constant care.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – expanded ICU featured a host of functional and aesthetic improvements to benefit patients and critical care staff. The redeveloped ICU included 20 beds and expanded from 4,010 square feet to 15,000 square feet. Patient private care spaces of 225 square feet were built to accommodate technologically-advanced equipment and provide greatly enhanced privacy for patients and their families.
